Over the last few months we have been prayerfully planning ahead for our Canopy Summer gathering, on Sat 11th June, at Dunblane High School. When we were preparing the content and considering what this gathering space could look like we felt a real sense of God calling us together for Increase.
There have been many challenges faced across the country these last couple of years, and the possibility of coming together again in person feels highly significant as the body of Christ, to celebrate all God is doing and has done, and to look ahead to the future.
Currently the Church is in decline, yet we feel God calling us to Increase; in number, in prayer, in gathering, in taking opportunities for sharing His transformative love and power. And so we gather. Next Saturday hundreds from across Scotland are making the journey to Dunblane to meet together, to pray, to worship, to learn, to grow and to have fun. And ice cream!
We are delighted to have Dave Richards from Ps and Gs Church, Edinburgh, coming to share with us in the main session, and then a variety of seminars for you to choose from. Around wellbeing and restoration; around church- planting, growing younger, world mission, evangelism and more. The day is led by folks from Baptist churches around Scotland and you’ll meet a few of our National Team as well.
In Connect this month you can also explore more around these areas; we hear from a church who baptised 5 friends who have encountered God in a variety of ways over the years, and from a church who began a community larder that has led to connection with the locals through a very practical and life-giving approach. We are one body, but with many parts. And we go forward starting with what we have…an incredible network of churches and individuals across Scotland; an opportunity to gather, to become more equipped, and a focus on praying to our God who changes situations and transforms lives.
