Search Team

The Baptist Union of Scotland Council met via Zoom on Thursday 25 June 2026 to discuss the vacant General Director position. A new Search Group was appointed – they will report directly to Council, with the intention of bringing a recommendation to a Special Council Meeting on Wednesday 28 October 2026. We are committed to keeping our churches fully informed throughout this process. The members of the Search Group are:-

  • Chair: Alan Milnes (Trustee of the Baptist Union of Scotland)
  • Simeon Baker (General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Wales)
  • Graham Bell (Chair, Board of Ministry)
  • Ian Birch (Principal, Scottish Baptist College)
  • Sandra Cobbin (BUS Peaceful Transformation Team and member of Queen’s Park Baptist Church)
  • Don Currie (Experienced pastor, former BUS Board and Council member, and Chair of GD Search Group in 2019)
  • Sylvia Jones (Trustee of the Baptist Union of Scotland)
  • Liam Morton (Pastor, Lossiemouth Baptist Church)
  • Zak Robb (Pastor, Portlethen Christian Fellowship)
  • Jim Turrent (Lead Pastor, Central Baptist Church, Dundee)
