Search Team
The Baptist Union of Scotland Council met via Zoom on Thursday 25 June 2026 to discuss the vacant General Director position. A new Search Group was appointed – they will report directly to Council, with the intention of bringing a recommendation to a Special Council Meeting on Wednesday 28 October 2026. We are committed to keeping our churches fully informed throughout this process. The members of the Search Group are:-
- Chair: Alan Milnes (Trustee of the Baptist Union of Scotland)
- Simeon Baker (General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Wales)
- Graham Bell (Chair, Board of Ministry)
- Ian Birch (Principal, Scottish Baptist College)
- Sandra Cobbin (BUS Peaceful Transformation Team and member of Queen’s Park Baptist Church)
- Don Currie (Experienced pastor, former BUS Board and Council member, and Chair of GD Search Group in 2019)
- Sylvia Jones (Trustee of the Baptist Union of Scotland)
- Liam Morton (Pastor, Lossiemouth Baptist Church)
- Zak Robb (Pastor, Portlethen Christian Fellowship)
- Jim Turrent (Lead Pastor, Central Baptist Church, Dundee)
