Deep Impact Online!

By Neil Pexton, BUS Invest Trainee

Deep Impact is a conference valued not only for its teaching and input, but also its sense of community. So the decision to move Deep Impact online was one we wrestled with, but we felt that the need to come together and be equipped and inspired was very much still there. We opted for a one-day conference with a mix of main sessions and seminars.

Our theme of Reimagined Hope felt like the right start to 2021. Seminars engaging with youth work, children’s work and a young leaders stream ran in the afternoon, looking at a variety of topics, all of which can be found on the Deep Impact Youtube channel. We were also aware of the spiritual significance that the Deep Impact weekend away is for so many people normally, that we decided to run a retreat stream alongside everything online this year.

With an encouraging turnout on the day, and an awareness that plenty of people have the benefit of being able to watch it later, we’re very encouraged with how the day came together and hope it blessed those who came along!
