Mae Moore, Training Hub and Comms Support, shares with us what has been happening in Training Hub this month! We would also love to hear from you if this is an opportunity you would like to know more about, all the info is here at: Training Hub. I have recently been reflecting on Jesus’ disciples and how they likely would have been young adults, potentially in their late teens and early twenties, much like our trainees. Each of them has laid down a proverbial fishing net to spend some of their time this year investing in their faith and spiritual lives so that they can step out as leaders for the kingdom of God. It is so crucial that we facilitate spaces where young adults can walk alongside leaders, mentors and peers, like the disciples did some 2000 years ago. This month we celebrated one of our trainees joining us for the first time in Edinburgh, having finally been able to move from Florida to be with us and intern at Central Church. We had the privilege of having Martin Hodson share with us on the discipline of Sabbath, which provoked lots of conversation and reflection. This was the first time some of the trainees were engaging with this practice, and for others it was a helpful challenge to re-prioritise God rest in our lives. We are meeting this weekend in Glasgow and Ruth and Stevie McLaren are going to be leading a day all around Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and evaluating what it looks like for us to be self-aware and more understanding of the people we are working with and how we can be stepping into the fullness of who God has made us to be. This will be especially significant after the last assignment that our trainees have handed in around Renovation of the Heart by Dallas Willard, a book that has been impacting Christians for decades in the formation of their character and spiritual life. Please do pray for the trainees as they meet together and also in their prayer triplets to talk and process through all that God has been saying to them this year. Why not also take a moment to pray and see whether God might bring to mind someone in your church who might benefit from the Training Hub Course 2022-2023. We are so blessed to get to know the trainees that come on the course this year and we have found that the course really does bring people together and facilitate some amazing moments! ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————– If you would like to find out more about Training Hub we are opening our applications soon for 2022/ 23 and we would love to hear from you!
