We really appreciate hearing from Zak Swan, who is part of Training Hub this year, as he tells us how God has changed his life in the last couple of years…
“Earlier this year I got baptised on Easter Sunday. It came after a few months in which God really began to do a new thing in my life. I had grown up in a Christian family, however during the pandemic I began to become a bit lukewarm in my faith and didn’t perhaps put God first in all that I did.
Things changed in 2022 after I had the opportunity to go to Magnitude with my church (Easterhouse Baptist) and in that week I felt that I really grew closer to God in my life and grew in my faith. After that point I had the opportunity to do the ‘Made For Encounter‘ Discipleship course ran by EBC, where I began to grow as a follower of Jesus and began to live more in his spirit.
At this point in my church there was mention of baptism and I sensed that it was the right time to do it. I then was baptised on easter Sunday by my Dad and my Pastor Pam. It was a great day where we were all filled with the joy of the holy spirit and celebrated the easter resurrection that was Jesus gift to us!
Since then I have decided to grow deeper in my faith by joining the Training Hub Programme run by the BUS and in that so far I have found some great opportunities to hear from God and form some great relationships with some of the other people on the program.”
