A Record-Breaking Gathering

By Martin Hodson, General Director

Size isn’t everything. But sometimes it’s something – to be enjoyed, to be celebrated, to be savoured, to say, ‘I was there.’

We are anticipating the largest ever gathering of people from Scottish Baptist churches on Sunday 25 October. Churches from all parts of the country will be sharing in an online worship service for the concluding session of Canopy. It will be a unique opportunity to connect in worship and prayer, to listen to scripture together and be encouraged by what God is doing in and through this network of churches.

The speaker will be John Mark Comer, from Bridgetown Church in Portland, Orgeon. John Mark is an engaging Bible teacher who pays particular attention to spiritual practices and culture. His recent book, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, has been appreciated by many people in and around our churches.

The event will run live at 10.30am for an hour. It looks like most churches are planning to make this their morning worship service that day.  It will be an extraordinary privilege to connect in this way as churches around the country, coming under the canopy of God’s glory together and listening for his voice.
