4 May, 2022

We are really looking forward to being able to gather again together for Canopy Summer, at Dunblane High School on June 11th.

It’s going to be a wonderful opportunity for us to worship together, engage with the word of God and reconnect with one another face to face. We have an exciting programme full of activities for children, young people and adults as well as time for all of us together! We hope there is something for everyone, but above all we hope to create a joyous space to connect with God and with each other.

You can find all the details and booking information on our website at: Canopy 2022 – Baptist Union of Scotland

We also have a Canopy Summer 2022 promo video which can be downloaded with one click from Google Drive link, which you are welcome to share at your church services, and on your websites and social media:

To give you an extra wee flavour of what’s included you can see our programme and details below:

Morning

We will gather together from 10am for coffee and registration, and then the children and young people will be heading off to their own activity venues with their awesome teams.

Our first main session will start at 10.30am and will be an amazing opportunity to worship together (led by Lewis Catto from Sheddocksley BC), with input from our main speaker (Rev Dave Richards from Ps & Gs church in Edinburgh) and reflections/vision from Martin Hodson, General Director of BUS. We really can’t wait to be able to be together in the same space!

Lunch

Picnic time! There’s going to be an ice cream van and coffee van but please make sure you bring a packed lunch with you. There are plenty of tables in the big hall of the school and also space outside in the sunshine (we say in faith!).

Afternoon options

Seminars, Activities, Games, Worship, space to Pray and Chill, and we are hoping the Message Trust Bus will be on site.

Seminars – we will have a couple of sessions to engage with a range of topics including church planting, being church in a war zone (with BMS), thinking about resilience with Kintsugi Hope, a session with Lina Toth from SBC, How to grow younger (Ali Laing) & Word 1-1 evangelism with John MacKinnon

Throughout the day Lewis and the team will be hosting a relaxed space where we have an opportunity to worship and pray and express our dependence on the Lord. We are hoping there may be a prayer ministry team available too.

Late afternoon session

We will have the chance to worship again together and engage with scripture with our guests which include Matthew Marshall, Amie Aitken and David Barrie as well as BMS.  We will have an opportunity to give towards the work in Ukraine, and to hear a final closing word before our gathering ends around 5:30pm.

The Children and Youth programmes will run again during this time.

We would absolutely love to see you there and would encourage you to book your tickets soon so you don’t miss out! We appreciate the travelling involved and a number of churches have enquired about booking coaches for their group, or joining with another church to do this. We can’t wait to see you all there!
